Hi Krystal

I don't like to bash people's sites and hope that you will find my comments constructive.

Firstly, small point but it damages credibility, you need to correct your spelling of 'legitimate'.

The site looks neat enough, but the content is nothing new and as it promotes Clickbank products and the like it's not very believable. I'm guessing that the site was made using a program like review site dollars or similar? This type of program used to work once upon a time but the web moves fast.

The domain name is not the best either. Where are your visitors coming from and how are they finding you? How long do they stay? Traffic is one thing but quality traffic is something else entirely. What constitutes a lot of visitors? Your site has no rank or traffic statistics at places like Alexa or Compete or Google largely because the domain is only three weeks old.

Affiliate marketing takes time and work, overnight success is extremely rare.

Have you honestly reviewed each one of the advertised programs? Have you really tested thousands of work at home opportunities? If your visitors doubt that you have, they will not buy from your site, and, I'm sorry to say, I didn't believe it when I landed on your page. People can spot these things a mile away and it's just not a credible claim. Selling anything online usually requires a lot of work, building trust and loyalty from your potential customers and this just won't do it.

You are trying to sell electronic products and "opportunities" for which the market is already saturated, and, I'm sorry to say, static "cookie cutter' sites like this are no longer the way to go. You are swimming in a huge pond with far more experienced marketers of these types of offers. My recommendation would be to study all you can in these forums - there is a lot of advice from far more successful affiliate marketers than me to steer you towards success. Find some blogs by experienced people (there are several who are members here) and study their tips and techniques.

(There is plenty of information on these forums about Clickbank and why it's not always a good place to start).

I'm sorry to sound so negative, but I'm sure others will tell you a similar story. Don't lose heart though, because you are in the right place here to learn from some very knowledgeable people.

Mo

Thanks Mo! I totally agree and thought all the same things.
Just didn't have time or the heart to post it.
Glad you did!

You are swimming with sharks, hon and I doubt you'll make any money going this route.

Read all the stickies in the newbie forum. Then scan the newbie forum for threads
like "how do I get started" or "why can't I make any sales."

Then start reading the niche forum and work on finding a good niche thats not about Internet Marketing or Get Rich Quick schemes.

Hiya

Thanks for the honest information I will take that on board? also my web-site is hosted with mid-phase and it's $142.00 a year USD. Is that a lot of money to pay for a beginner? are their any other hosting companies that are cheaper? If you could help that would be great.

Yours sincerly
Affiliate Marketer

P.S. I brought the ultimate wealth package from mark warren and mid-phase is there hosting company.

Well there are cheaper hosts BUT you always need to check reputation, support and uptime.

Your current host has had lots of negative feedback recently.

I have some sites with them and one site was taken down with NO warning and without even letting me know. They just PULLED it for excessive server usage and all it was, was ONE image that was hogging bandwidth. They could have just asked me to take the one image down.

Don't underestimate the importance of a good host. Once you are making good money the last thing you want is for your site to go down or to have to switch hosts.

Always check webhostingtalk.com forum and research a host in-depth before joining.

Here is one I've been reading good feedback on that offers a huge amount of space PLUS a free domain. I'm looking for a new host for the sites that are at Midphase. I'd get the high end package, but if you get the low end which is still huge, it's only 6.95 a month and they'll move your site for you. PLUS you can get a new domain for free for a new niche site and host multiple sites on the one domain. HostICan - Web Hosting - FREE Domain, PHP, 2,500GB of bandwidth, and more...

But again, don't take my word or anyone's word on who a good host is. Every host has complaints. Many had good reputations in the beginning then went down hill, some BIG names you'd be wise to stay away from. So you need to research and see what lots of people say and then form a general consensus from there.

The host you get depends somewhat on your site but that one would be plenty for most sites. It will be fine for my other smaller sites. Whereas a big, busy site like 5 Star with a blog and forum needs a dedicated server.

What Linda says about hosting is spot on and I know comes from hard won experience. Midphase have indeed had a lot of negative publicity of late to the point that I'm thinking of removing them from my own directory. (I'm still reading a lot of the complaints before doing so, and am also looking closely at AN Hosting who are part of the same company).

Because I run a review site and am affiliated with several companies I won't make any recommendations - there is no right choice, just the right choice for you. Understand what you need and track down a company who can provide just that. Research at the outset can save much heartache down the road as Linda says.

OK, this next part is a bit long.......

You mentioned the program you joined prior to posting here, and I can't let it go by without a rant so, here's a quick rundown of how it works. You have been sold something, probably by an affiliate, probably through Clickbank. Affiliates are paid a percentage of the sales that they make, in this case, the sale of your UWP membership. (You go on to make money, in theory, by selling CB products and other programs through the website they have provided free (cough) for you). The balance of the purchase price goes to the program owners. This is just the beginning though - the hosting deal is then sold to you by the owners of UWP for which they receive more money from the hosting company. From what I have read, they will probably then continue to hound you to spend more - maybe they've already tried to sell you more "courses" etc. (see link below) This is internet marketing at it's cutthroat end, to put it politely.

You will read here on these forums, over and over, that most of the information for sale online can be had for free, and it's largely true. I have no personal experience of the program you paid for but a little research reveals plenty. Here are just a couple of links

Keeping The *******s Honest » Mark Warren and the Ultimate Wealth Package and

Ultimate Wealth Package - read this review and opinion

Without wishing to lecture or labor the point, you are obviously very new to the whole "make money online" world and have unfortunately been taken advantage of. However, most people, if they are honest, have made similar mistakes at the outset and the important thing is to learn from it.

Whenever you are tempted to buy into a promise, do your research before spending your money. A simple check is to 'Google' the name of the program and tag the word 'scam' on the end of it. If you try this for UWP, you will get a lot of results singing the praises of the program and claiming to be "reviews". These will almost all be by affiliates who have probably never used the product but will be paid a commission for selling it to others, like yourself.
(Forget the sponsored results for this exercise because they are exclusively from people using Google Adwords - paid advertising. You can predict that these results will land you on a page either a) persuading you to buy or b) exalting you not to buy, and trying to sell you an alternative which is, of course, 'superior').

I don't like to speculate about or falsely accuse anything I have no direct experience of, but I think you have bought into something which is of little practical value - a front end product used to open the door to even more 'back end sales'. UWP does make money - for the affiliates and the program owners mainly. Once signed up, it appears that the advice is to employ Pay Per Click advertising to rocket you to wealth as a Clickbank affiliate - PPC is not for the inexperienced marketer - I think most people will agree with that statement.

I should add that not all affiliates are bad people, and not all Clickbank products/affiliates are no good, but always remember that some are more honest than others. It takes us back to the site on which you asked for feedback - the claims it makes are simply not true and as an affiliate, it's not really the way to go.

OK, sorry for rattling on and apologies if anyone thinks I'm "teaching Grandma to suck eggs". If anyone feels what I've said needs correction, please come forward. I don't claim to be young enough to know everything

Mo.

You GO Mo! Totally agree with what you've said - again.

I didn't rant this time because I'm always ranting about crappy ebooks and CB programs that take advantage of newbies and I'm starting to feel like a broken record. HOWEVER it IS totally normal to get sucked in by these "get rich quick turnkey cookie cutter so easy your grandma could do it" programs.

The promise of getting rich with no work or the promise of finding that "secret strategy" is very alluring when you are a n00b. I got sucked in a BUNCH of times in the beginning, I think most of us did. The sharks out there are PROS at pushing the right buttons to prey on your newbie dreams. They know EXACTLY what you want to hear and they know how to dish it!

Mo and I are not trying to sell you anything and are telling you straight - as experienced pros
that have been there and seen others go there, then give up and quit.
You don't need to quit - just switch gears quick.

Sidebar: MO, since you are in the hosting biz, my sites are technically on Autica, a division of MP.
I have a reseller account there with just a handful of very small sites, yet got shut down.

Thanks Linda for the affirmation - not sure I qualify as a 'pro' quite yet but it annoys me too when I see these stories because it's so disheartening for people. Your emphasis on "don't give up" is something I should have said too, but once I get to rantin'.....well, you know

For the record I do still promote some CB stuff myself, selectively, but it's getting to the point where I'm thinking of pulling it from most places. Lots of reasons that I won't go into here

Mo

P.S. Midphase, like many others, seem to be victims of their own success, most of the recent complaints seem to surround service and support issues which seemingly they are having trouble coping with. Your story is quite appalling really, particularly as you found and were prepared to resolve the problem. It's becoming more and more common - customer exceeds CPU for example, often gets no help in addressing the problem and even if they track it down themselves, the hosting company adopts the stance of "your sites can no longer be hosted on shared servers/your current plan - you'll have to buy more expensive/VPS/Dedicated and refuses to budge even though everyone knows the problem is easily remedied, maybe already has been, and that there is no real need for the upgrade. They lose, the customer loses......I'd better stop now!!

Well I think that AFTER people like you, who've learned the ropes and understand how it all works and start making money, choose to promote CB stuff - it's OK if you know what you are getting into.

My primary concern is n00bs getting sucked into IM and get rich quick stuff all dreamy eyed believing the hype. I just think it's sad.
