I'm short on time and just took a quick peek but I like it.

Couple tips for SEO

Your title tag is most important for search engines and to help the right TARGETED visitors find you. Your title tag is: mytennisguide.com - where tennis champions are born.
No one will search for mytennisguide.com in that format. My Tennis Guide - separate word would be better. So as it is, the only people that would happen to find you in search engines would most likely be people that search for "tennis champions."

My guess is your target market is not tennis champions but beginners and people that want to learn tennis right? So that's a great "tag" line and you can leave it in the text under the tennis ball. But your title tag needs instead to include keywords like "learn to play tennis" or tennis instruction or improve your tennis game or something that people would search for, but yet isnt too terribly competitive.

Also as you click a link to go to a new page - the page title up in the title bar needs to change to reflect the content of each page - it always stays the same, which is a function of that template you used (I think) and not sure if it would be easy to change.

It looks like (possibly) the company you got the free template from is monetizing your 404 error pages. Not sure if you agreed to that in the TOS or care. Click the article and forum links to see what I mean. If it's not part of the TOS then you should put Adsense on 404 pages so you make the money not them.

For affiliate links I would think a couple good tennis equipment or tennis training banners in the sidebar or somewhere would be fine. But then probably your best best is just plain text links within the content. So if you are talking about the best racket, use an affiliate link to it, or an "improve your serve" DVD, link to it in the course of conversation within an article or you can write more of a product review, just based on your style or preference.

Just a couple ideas...

Hi Linda,
Thanks again, for the great advice. I am a little worried that my text is too small, but it fits my site design nice and clean. Do you think having such a small text is anything to worry about?

Default Tips for SEO

Hello

In order for your site to do well in terms of google listings etc i would advise the following points:

1. Use Header tags in the body. Eg in the code for where champions are born should look like <..h1>where champions are born (but without the full stops. these are there so this post does not pick up on the code)
2. Use the same meta keywords in your content.
3. Use robots re-visit after 7 days meta tags.
4. Try and always add/change your content. Google loves sites that constantly get updated.
5. Depending upon how much you would like to make and how much you are willing to spend, set up a PPC Campaign. This will guarantee targeted traffic.

In terms of design i would do the following.

1. Apply on states for graphics- where the mouse goes over an image which then leads to another page, have the image change colour slightly on the mousover to indicate a action.
2. On the content pages, remove the scroll bars and have the text fully showing. Users will get the impression there is a lot of reading if a scroll bar is present.
3. Try and remove the image repeat on the left green column. This can be done by adding background repeat:no-repeat; into the style sheet.

Apart from these i think it is a really nice design. Just be careful that it does not come accross as a product site and not an information site.

Good luck
