Default can someone look at my blog

Can someone check out my blog? I want honest opinions. I need to know if it's set up correctly as far as being monetized. I have about 15 blogs but haven't made any money or got any traffic yet.

Not sure where to begin with this. Two of your links redirect people (presumably outside of the U.S.) to a garish video site which is completely unrelated to your subject. This is not good, sorry.

Your weight loss blog is generic blogspot fare with third party articles making up the bulk of the content and nothing very original and it's very very new.

I don't like writing these disparaging posts, (I really don't) but you have to understand that if you are going to market to a niche such as weight loss, it's swamped already and there are plenty of far better sites. You're going to have to offer something way more unique and appealing to stand any chance of gaining an audience.

My first tip - rethink exactly how and where you want to go with your efforts. When you have a better idea of how it all works, get yourself your own domain and website and begin to build your online presence. Please read this wonderful resource that is 5Star and see how the really successful people make money online (I don't include myself in that hallowed group but they can teach you a whole lot).

I'm sorry if I come off sounding harsh but there is just so much wrong that even a relatively lowly knowledge endowed reader like me can see it. Feel free to throw rocks!

Mo

Default hmm

i dont know what you're talking about regarding my links...they all redirect to weight loss products. I just tested all the links.

You're free to feel the way you want. I asked for opinions and that's what you gave. I just don't see anything wrong with my links and most of my blogs have good rankings in google.

After a quick peak I didn't see the links MO was referring to. Must be one of the Kontera links.
But he knows his stuff so if he saw them I think they are there somewhere.

Sorry, I should have been clearer - two of the links in your signature I clicked on, the ones for eye exam and debt assessment. I realize these are not part of your weight loss blog but presumably are part of your online strategies.

If you can't replicate it in the U.S. (I'm in the Caribbean) so it's my fault for living somewhere I shouldn't Here's where they go

theaffiliated.net/index.asp?aff_id=CD20&country=KY

OK, now that I've cleared that up, and apologized once again for confusing the issue, I still think you are going to struggle with a free blog in such a competitive niche.

Most of your blogs may have good Google ranking, but I'm not sure how you conclude that this blog does because you have no page rank at present. Do you mean you rank well for particular keyword searches? A quick look at the stats provided for the url of the weight loss blog over at Smart Page Rank will give you a quick overall impression of its standing.

Confusion with the other URL's notwithstanding I hope you understand that my criticism was meant to be constructive, not a flame or personal attack on you.

Oh, gotcha. I totally thought you meant links on his blog he wanted reviewed.

I think your feedback was constructive Mo, thanks for giving it. When people ask for reviews they need to realize they may get opposing views or at least not hear what they want to hear.

That's the purpose of reviews - to see how others view your site.
I remember asking for reviews of this site design over at another forum a couple years ago. (The current design is being changed as we speak).

I had some people tell me all the gold stars made it look like a get-rich-quick site. Everyone knows how much I hate that type of site, so that is not the feedback I wanted to hear at all!

I said... well err... my site's name IS 5 Star, so that's why I have stars.
But I did tone it down a bit and take their feedback into consideration.

It was my fault for not looking more closely and noting the underline demarking the sig from the blog title

I'm looking forward to the redesign, not that I don't like the current look. Your stars and avatars around the blogging world have become your recognized brand so it's always easy to find you online at places like Bumpzee and BlogCatalog.

Thanks for the help, my reviews are often a little harsh, but I aim to be honest.

Default Review of dallas weight loss site

This site has a good structure and has a lot of potential to make it great.

Firstly the structure and layout is good. I would recommend that the navigation switches to the left of the site. Statistics show that 88% of viewers can navigate throgh the site more easily when it has a left nav.

Headers are all in the correct places, however work needs to be done on the color and possible size. If you have 1 main header and the rest sub headers then give each of the sub headers the same size font and the main header 2px font larger. Consistency enables the reader to easily navigate through the site and recognise and seperate headers from sub headers.

Your site needs some color. I know many blogs, web 2.0 style of sites use a white background however, this only works if done correctly. I would suggest some color behind the navigation or areas of your content that you think is important.

The header of the site needs a lot of work, i would use some imagery to introduce your site and try and work on the title. Maybe use photoshop to produce some nice text and strengthen the overall header.

Your site has a good structure to work on. Maybe look round for some inspiration to help your site fulfill its potential.

Good luck
