Default Please review my sites

I have had about 20,000 visitors to both of my websites combined so far but no sales. Part of the reason may be that just about all those visitors have come from purchased traffic which is suppose to be quality targeted traffic for my specific health and wellness niche. But I am beginning to figure out that maybe purchased traffic does not work very well. It was almost to easy to buy it.

Anyway here are my two websites. What am I doing wrong? Is is too much like a garage sale maybe?

Body, Mind, Soul: Health and Wholeness Website
http://earningmoneyontheweb.com

I also have many sub domains connected to my main website and I also have a clickbank mall here:

eBook Downloads

I will receive a commission on any purchase someone makes within the Clickbank marketplace every time someone buys something in my mall. I only received one sale within my mall so far and got $5.05.

I also made a version of my mall at myspace:

myspace.com/downloadsonline

But no one purchases anything. No one has ever even visited my myspace mall yet.

Maybe I am doing something wrong with all my websites? Maybe I am suppose to focus on one product at a time?

Anyway advice, if you have the time, will be appreciated.

Thanks.

one site has images and banners over text, but the sites should convert with targeted traffic. this means keyword related traffic.

You do need to get more specific with your keywords.

use this tool to see how many searches per day they have for any specific keywords Free Keyword Suggestion Tool from Wordtracker

It is free and you can also download this keyword tool free at Good Keywords - Find the best keywords for your web pages.

Buying traffic only works if it is specificaly targeted, like google adwords, but this is expensive.

Take a little time and learn how to do seo and within 3 months with 1 or 2 hours a day, you will start getting more sales.

You need to keep the sites specific, and competing against download.com is not a good idea.

this ebook will teach you the basic principles of seo. use articles to build links instead of reciprical links, so stay away from linkmetro.

And there is no reason to buy the software for a few sites. you do not need them.

This is a branded ebook with affiliate links, they are not mine, but just warning you not to buy anything, you do not need it. but the onpage and seo information is fairly accurate, so it is a good learning tool.

Default Thank you

Thank you jcorkern for the advice. I downloaded the ebook and the keywords tool and hope to look them over after work.

I am not sure what you meant when you said there are banners over texts on one of my websites because on my computer, in both Netscape and Explorer, the banners don't cover any texts but line up without touching the texts. Which browser did you use to view my web pages?

Also you mentioned that it is not a good idea to compete with downloadsonline. Did you mean it is not a good idea to use keywords that downloadsonline uses?

Anyway downloadsonline were the ones that suggested that I use their website in my own frames with my own domain name. Out of all my websites I am hoping that one gets the most traffic because I earn a commission on every product and every category in the Clickbank marketplace if anyone purchases anything through my downloadsonline link.

Here is an alternative web page (in need of review) I created for my downloadsonline web page if the other is not working for me. But this one has several frames in it which may present a problem. But what I like about it is the quick reference table of contents I created which I am hopig would be convient for visitors to quickly find something they want and click on it.

Downloads Online: Information, eBooks and Software Downloads Online Directory

Thanks again for all the advice.

the only reason i said do not bother with download.com is because they are branded, and they are trusted. They have been at it for years and also have a couple magazines that are published world wide. Basicaly, most know them by name and they are an authority site. beating them with seo is almost not possible.

I would suggest getting in a more specific ninch to make money fron the start and less competetive to get top positions.

Only write articles and press releases and 2.0 websites for links as the primary source for links.

It will not hurt to have forum sigs, but do not post in forums just to post. make sure it is legit.

I am using IE 7. as my browser, are you using firefox?? this may be the problem sine the browsers are different.

The site I am speaking about is downloadsonline.org not downloads.com. They are both entirely different websites. downloadsonline.org is a Clickbank mall that anyone can get (for free) and add their Clickbank id to the system so that they receive commissions from within the downloadsonline.org system.

I have a dowloads online store PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK THIS I do not think it will work in a frame you need to use a redirect

Can you tell me why your using subdomains instead of subindexes which would increase your links and content in that domain?

Default Effective tools...

jcorkern, thank you for providing that keyword tool. It could become very useful.

Kirkhams, I would have to agree that sub indexes work better in order to increase traffic and sales of a particular product. But, can/should affiliates order those indexes and sub indexes in order of how successful those areas are? Curious...

Thanks,

In my indexes I have my own products first, then resell products, then affiliate products. I use alphabetical order and each item has it's own separate sales page as well, but popularity is a definate option and could increase sales

Default Popular first

Then again, I have my own theory about putting popular items first. If you place popular and successful products near the top, then the unpopular, and not so profitable products have no chance at improving in either department, you know?

I think you have a great theory by organizing your products by your own personal priority. But, it's always a good idea to welcome change and versatility.

Thanks,

Hi Eddie...just a quick note concerning your "Body, Mind, Soul" site. What I would do would be to take each category (ie: Health and Wellness, Diet and Weight Loss etc...) and make a mini site for each with it's own domain name thus micro-tizing your larger site. There just seems to be too much info for the surfer who is looking for something specific. My experience has been that if someone is looking for a specific item or service, they need something that "hits them in the head" right away. Where they don't have to scroll through a bunch of text or categories to find it. If you don't want to spend money on getting more domain names then maybe use one of the free Blogging platforms like www.blogspot.com to create these mini sites. A blog may help you in the long run and you can then direct them to the merchant sales page. And I would think about including a few more images that reflect the niche you are trying to market...there are some great and cheap online stock photo sites where you can purchase professional images for cheap. I hope this helps and I wish you luck. Take care.

Jazzguy
