Default Please Tell Me What You Think...

Well, I've been working at this blog for a couple of weeks now. I've tried to develop SEO to attract visitors, but it seems I'm the only one visiting the site.

I just switched the Wordpress theme, so there are some things I might need to iron out, but I haven't seen anything that's too messed up.

I've included some ads that are not directly related to my site's topic, and I wonder if these choices work for this site.

Any thoughts, suggestions? I appreciate any constructive input.

First thing though, is that you need to realize that SEO takes time and ALOT of patience. It's not something that is going to happen overnight. Stuff you do today can take up to 3 months to get any results...

There are times when I did some seo things and forgot about them and then 3 months later found them in my visitors logs and said "oh ya..."

Hi Ben,

I just took a quick peek and it looks good to me.

Have you tried doing keyword research on some long tail keywords or some fairly popular but not too competitive keywords related to freelancing. See if you can find some good ones then write blog entries with those keywords in the title of the post and mentioned a couple times in the body. The more articles you have with related KW the more pages you can hopefully get ranked high enough that people will find them.

Hi Linda! Thanks for checking out my blog. I don't know what you mean by "long tail keywords."

I really appreciate your advice.

Hi Ben,

long tail phrases are longer, less popular but less competitive phrases someone could look for that may be interested in freelancing.

Example: How to get paid for freelance writing jobs online
(not saying this a good one)

"freelance writing jobs online" get about 8 searches a day according to the free Wordtracker tool.

Wow, Linda... Thanks! That's a very helpful resource.

Now I'm going to have to go over all my Metadata, headers, titles and content to put in some of these phrases.

I'm sure I'll be posting more questions real soon...

Hi Ben, I visited your site to read your blog. You have used keywords such as freelance, novice, work-at-home etc. I would suggest you to use keyword phrase such as writing career, working as a freelancer, freelance working and make career in freelancing.
