Default Landing Page Review

Ok, my testing on this affiliate offer via PPC turned out that the final merchant website does not seem to be converting visitors to customers too well.

I spent about $75 on Adwords and another $50 on Adcenter testing different versions of my landing pages, ads and keywords. I received pretty good CTRs (on Adwords and MSN) as well as pretty good quality score ratings on Google (as low as $0.03 minimum bids). Click-throughs to the merchant were pretty high - but conversions lacked.

As I want to improve landing pages and site design, I think I can make this one public and solicit your feedback (please). What is your opinion on this landing page design? What can I improve? What really sticks out bad or good?

Landing Page here

Please note that the link has a keyword embedded as I am catching those and dynamically inject into the page text.

Thanks.

Chris

Default Saw the site

The site looked pretty good

The 3 choices and the chefs picture were what poped out and I remember about the page. Prices started around $40 and ended at about $80
I'm not in the market so I couldn't get excited about the knives, plus I have a great set.

That's my first impression of the page.

The site looks fine to me.

May I ask what keywords you bid for?
And how stiff competition is for those keywords?

Regarding keywords, they are always changing.

My competition is stiff, there are many sites in the Satellite TV business and many Affiliate Programs. However, I offer a 3 level affiliate program so people make much more money with our's over the competitions.

Chris, the landing page looks good. A couple of suggestions worth testing:

Explain a little about chef tony near the top - he's your expert, he's seen on TV. Maybe this will add a little credibility.

Also, while your site looks great, when you click on the "good deal-better deal-best deal" buttons, you are taken to a landing page with the same buttons, so the user needs to click on the same button again. If there's a way to take them directly to that deal, it might help conversions.

Good luck,
Kris

First the site looks great. What throws me is when you click on the buy icon you are taken to a page that makes you click again. You click again and again it seems that you are made to click. If I was a customer I would say what is going on is this broken and stop at the second click. That was just my thought when I tried. Deb.

Default First Impresssions good, but...

The most popular radio station in the world is "WIIFM" - What's In It For Me? OK, love the guarantee and the "buy one get one free" however (I was only there for a few moments) the true benefit to me in making a purchase was lost. You must keep asking yourself "so what?" When you list something about the product it is generally a feature. Only when you can list a benefit (the answer to "so what") alongside the feature do you really, really start to engage the reader/consumer.

Other than that I like the site.
