Default My first landing page. Feedback?

I am not much of a designer or programmer, but i wanted to make a simple landing page with wordpress so i can get started testing offers. I'll probably pay a designer to do something at some point.

But in the meantime i would love to hear feedback on what i have so far.

My landing page is iWon games for cash | Play free online games and win cash & prizes

thanks!!

You know, I'm not sure that critiquing landing pages is my forte
and in the end you may wish you hadnt asked. You hit my HOT button!

As far as the landing page goes, I think it looks fine. One thing they always say though is not to have a bunch of other links or a menu, so you can funnel people to the merchant site instead of letting them click other places.

I clicked through to see the merchant you were promoting and I have to say I'm very disappointed.
It seems this company is a BHO that spreads Adware. See: Google Search

As an affiliate advocate I'm here to tell you there are LOTS of problems with this!

1) It can muck up your users computers and tick them off.
(Do you like it when your computer gets jammed up and you can't get anything done? Do you really think it's OK to do that to others?

2) The more adware, spyware and crap people get, the more they turn to anti-spyware and anti-adware programs.

3) Most of the anti-spyware and anti-adware programs delete cookies and/or or block affiliate network ads. So while you make a few cents per download, it can come back and bite you in your own pocketbook by reduced commissions across the board.

4) Some adware also directly steals affiliate commission, so the adware you spread could come back and steal your commish from other programs.

5) Helping to spread adware hurts the entire industry and costs all affiliates money by deleting cookies, blocking links and/or enabling parasites that steal commission.

Told you, you hit my hot button!

Now since you're new, maybe you didn't realize this and will switch gears.
Almost every program that pays for downloads (toolbars, free screensavers, free cursors, smileys, avatars, etc.) has adware, spyware or malware. I don't care if they SAY they don't - most do. Why in the world would they pay affiliates to help spread the stuff if they didn't have anything to gain?

I've had this discussion on many forums and have had guys tell me "I could care less who it hurts or how it affects other affiliates as long as I make my money."

I hope you're not one of those guys and hope you'll find a legit program to promote. What goes around truly does come back around - one way or another!

Linda,

Actually the affiliate offer it is going to now is not the actual offer. The actual offer is iWon.com. All you need to do is sign up (for free). But the offer had a
lead cap in december and it already hit the cap. So the affiliate company is automatically redirecting to another offer until January (today, happy new years!)

I have not started any PPC campaigns or link building yet until the old offer is back up.

I 100% agree with you. I ALWAYS try and check offers to make sure they are not spammy before i promote them. But i can see why it looks like a spammy offer with the current redirect situation....

Also, the reason i have the other pages is because i actually took screen shots of every game that iWon has so each game can have it's own post. I plan on running separate PPC campaigns to the popular game pages as well...

thanks for the feedback!

OK so sorry I jumped on you. Now I'm ticked at that network who used to assure me they didn't work with adware or spyware. Guess they've changed their ways. Sorry if I went off, but affiliates promoting and helping to spread adware is my biggest pet peeve.

I wondered if maybe your other links would go to the offer too,
that makes sense. I do think the page looks good!

Default Good page...I still don't trust you

I think your page is about as good as it can get, however, there is absolutely no way that I would "play games for free." I just would never do it. I don't trust you. The graphics are of cheap games I've seen before (my wife used to play online games for fun). Generally, those games worked very poorly, and some of the graphics suggest gambling...and I stay away from that kind of stuff.

Decent copy...I'm just not your target market at all.

Cheers!
