But I'm actually going to turn off new submissions for awhile. Can't keep up with them and I'm starting to get people that submit like 20 times. Kills my carpal to go through them all, so I'm just turning them off. Does take that much time, I'm just tired of doing it.

It was a new toy to launch but now I'm getting bored with it.
May even sell it.

with your 'ping sites' list, are you saying I should be manually going into blog editor (eg wordpress) and adding all those ping sites to the 'update services' section?

I think most people just add pingomatic there and let it ping all the other services for you.


I prefer not to do it automatically though, because many times after I post I'll realize a different title would be better or I need to edit the excerpt or something. So I like to just manually hit pingo after I check my post and am sure it's the way I want it. If you bookmark it all you have to do is hit the bookmark and it starts pinging right away.

Yes, I have pingomatic there already, although you raise a good point - I also like to make last minute changes etc...

Hadn't thought about how it probably pings every single time i make a change.....!

Well no it doesn't. What happens is it will ping once right after you hit publish. But then if you go DUH I had a typo and it already sent a ping and you correct the typo and then try to manually ping it will give you an error, saying slow down cowboy you're pinging too fast. So then your typo title is out there in the wild and you can't change it once it sends.
