I've submitted my domain to a ton of directories, made a lot of posts on relevant health forums, and submitted to many article directories, but fo rsome reason it won't show up as any backlinks when I check in Yahoo or Google. Can someone please explain why? I am panicing right now!
If you're talking about the link in your sig, I just took a quick peek at back links using the Search Status toolbar. I only see one backlink in Google and it's from here.
When did you do all the submissions? It can take awhile I think for backlinks to show up.
Did you check to see if any of the places are using NoFollow?
If they are, that blocks search spiders from following and counting the links.

It takes time before Google updates their data centers. Also a factor that would affect this is the "crawlability" of the directories you submitted to. Try also using Yahoo Site Explorer for another resource.
