Cool Proper Linking Strategies Boosts Your PageRank

There are numerous ways to promote your site. The search engines are the primary source of e-commerce traffic on the Web. Having other sites link to you will be essential in accomplishing these main objectives:
# Getting the search engine spiders to find your site.
Getting the search engine spiders to crawl your site more frequently.
Getting the search engine spiders to crawl your site more deeply (i.e., this will get them to look at more than just your site's homepage.
By submitting one's website to the search engines you become more visible in the search engines. However, this is becoming less and less effective in accomplishing the above mentioned objectives.By asking other sites to link to you, which shows the search engines that your site is important enough that others are willing to place their reputation on it. In this way, when one web page links to another, it is as though that page is voting for the other.
Major search engines, including Google, AOL, MSN and Yahoo!, will look at both the number of pages linking to your site and the quality of those pages to determine your site’s relevancy. Having good quality and quantity of links going to your site will drive the search engines to spider your site and also help improve your rankings for keyword phrases. Therefore, one of the most important things you can work on to gain higher rankings in the search engines is your site’s own “link popularity”.

Link Popularity is necessary for any website to do well in the search engines. Building links requires experience, motivation, a lot of communication, and a lot of work. The best linking strategy you could possibly have for your website's quality of incoming traffic and your search engine rankings is to seek out solid, permanent links on related pages.
This is known as reciprocal linking or "link exchange."You agree to link to another site, in exchange for them linking to you. As a strategy for increasing the quantity of sites linking to you, it is very popular. You may be contacted by other sites if you have your email address posted somewhere on your site. Or, you can go out on the Web yourself and find some sites to trade links with.First, create a custom HTML page for linking, and link to it from your site’s homepage.
Key facts to consider:
1)A quality link from a high-ranking site will benefit your site more than a large amount of links from only low ranking sites.
2)Links from site to site should be text-based (not images) using one of your main targeted keyword phrases.
3) Link popularity is not effective when used single-handedly as a marketing technique. You will need to work significantly on your site’s text content and researching keyword phrases. Remember to develop and use targeted, popular keyword phrases throughout the text on your site, or have it professionally optimized.
Second, decide what keyword phrases you will use for the links pointing to your site. Links should always be keyword rich text, so use your best performing search terms according to what is getting the most searches in the major engines. You can use our keyword suggestion tool to discover which keyword phrases are getting high traffic.
Third, contact other site owners to discuss trading links. Because you have already established a relationship and rapport with certain people, they will be more inclined to want to link to your site. This will become reciprocal linking if you propose to list a text link to their site if they will in turn list a text link to yours.

Procedure of link building
(1.) Reciprocal Link Exchange = In this case we have to submit our site URL in the appropriate site in the submission page mentioned and In exchange we must have to put the Site’s URL in any of our Site page. There should be regular check up of our Site URL as it’s not always confirmed that the respective site would maintain or keep our URL in its submitted page. Some time we have to submit the URL according to PR of the respective site. If we are submitting their URL in PR-4 page of our site then it’s necessary that they should also put our URL in PR-4 page.
(2.)1-Way Link Exchange = There are some sites which are providing the facility to submit our URL but in exchange they do not need any Link to be submitted in exchange.
(3.) 3-way Link Exchange = This way of Link Exchange is little bit different from Reciprocal Exchange. In this category we have to submit the URL of a site in any of our PR page and in exchange to this the Site Owner will include our URL in any 3rd Domain .This type of URL submission has some other affects on the PR of any site.
Bulk Email Posting: We have to make some advertisements related to our site and the services we provide. These emails are to be sent to the Email-IDs that are taken out by some Software’s Like Affiliate Finder Pro and Arelis. These Emails should have our URL’s and the information related to our site.
News-Letter: Newsletter is to be sent using different services and the work we do. These Newsletters should be more specific to our profile and the mission what we do.
We should regular change the matter and the contents of the newsletter.
Forum Registration and Postings; The most important part of Search Engine Optimization is Forums. We have to do registrations in the forums related to our site. In all the Forums we should give the signature in which we must have our URL and if possible main Email-ID of administrator.
The postings to forums should be more concerned and related to the topics on which we are posting.
The queries should be frequently asked about the Topics that are ongoing and the answers should be given to the questions specifically according to the topics.
All the answers and questions should have been signed specifically.
Link Building for Specific Keywords: In the coding of all the pages
We must put some specific keywords in META TAGS and we should target to these Keywords for making the Link building.
These keywords will be crawled and will give the result in upper pages.
Lead Generation: There should be some Lead Generation page which will bring leads to the present Home page of the site.
This can be used through some requirements page and submit pages from different Domains but which will point to the Home page of main site.
Google Sitemap: The sitemap for Google is to be maintained and is to be verified according to the URL submitted in Google.
The indexing of the site is maintained on daily basis and we must go through the guidelines provided by the Webmasters of Google.
Blog Submission: To spread our link to different Domains and
different sites we should submit our content in web-blogs.
Blogs are major source that are crawled by search engines, we should always keep in mind to submit our site content in blogs related to our site.
It will help to boost the hits and incoming links on the site.
Article Submission: Articles pa major role in bringing traffic to the
site .We should submit all the matter or content of our site in the websites that are giving the facility to submit Articles in their directories.
In this submission also we should try to submit the content in related sites.
Ezine Ads: The online magazines and online ads are better source to
Incoming links to site. We should make online Ads in the websites which are giving the facility to make the ads and publish them over internet.
The Ads should be related to the content and the services that we provide and are mentioned in our site.
We should always check the Ads keep the track if they are published or not.

Now The Most Important thing i.e Your Page Rank
The Page Rank Of A Website depends solely on your inbound links. The PageRank of a website is calculated with the help of the following equation:

PR(A)=(1-d)+(PR OF LINK PAGE 1*D/NO OF LINKS IN PAGE1)+ (PR OF LINK PAGE 2*D/NO OF LINKS IN PAGE2)+.....+(PR OF LINK PAGE P*D/NO OF LINKS IN PAGE P).

Where A,is your website
D is a damping factor =0.85
link page 1,2...,P are the pages that has a link pointing to your website and can be found out by conducting a search on google with link:www.website.com.

Proper Link Exchange is the perfect way to improve your page rank on the net.A good page rank ensures better traffic which further enhances the website prospects on the web.

I beg to disagree...

First about: "By submitting one's website to the search engines you become more visible in the search engines."

hmm isn't it is best to submit to directories rather than to search engines? because search engines is the one which crawls your site while with your directories it gives you one way link that will help boost your site while with search engines even though you do not submit your site to them they still crawl your site...

Second: "Bulk Email Posting"

This one of the unhealthy seo, this is considered as SPAMMING...

seo is a long term basis of work... it needs determination, patience, and always be updated to what new in seo...

Yep you should NOT submit to search engines.
Google likes it better if she finds your site on her own.
You can give her a trail to sniff though.

You also need to be VERY careful with link exchanges these days.

READ Google's WebMaster Guidelines re Link Exchanges

"However, some webmasters engage in link exchange schemes and build partner pages exclusively for the sake of cross-linking, disregarding the quality of the links, the sources, and the long-term impact it will have on their sites. This is in violation of Google's webmaster guidelines and can negatively impact your site's ranking in search results."

Pr Has no direct effect on traffic. And since you are talking about the dampening factor, could you explain it in full and how you actualy calculate the dampening factor?

You can have a PR 4 website for new orleans real estate and have only 200 links, where for dallas real estate you will need 3k links for PR 4. so, unless you fully understand the dampening factor and how it is calculated, i would not be giving someone(especialy beginners who are learning in this forum) a base formula without explaining it.

there are many factors that effect this, including the title(major factor).

Now, the pr 4 new orleans site will recieve a lot less traffic than the PR 4 dallas real estate site with top positions. so it is not correct to relate PR to traffic. they are completely different animals.

A PR 4 site in weight loss may get 20 times the traffic of the dallas real estate site.

Very true - I have many Web 2.0 properties pointing to some landing pages and it is important to get these sites indexed as quickly as possible.

There's nothing wroing with reciprocal links per se. They occur organically and if you're in a niche it's difficult to avoid them.

The key is incoming links from pages with related content, preferably with anchor text related to the content of your page. I have never seen any evidence that whether those links are one-way or reciprocal really is at all important.

The only exception might be if ALL your incoming links were reciprocal. Depending on your niche, that might raise a flag about what Google calls "artifical linking practices".

I try to stear away from all this "add instantly to 100s of search engines", and try find good catalogues to ad sites too - the more relevant the better. Strength in quality backlinks - not quantity is what I'm aiming for. Takes more time, but I feel it's worth it in the long run!
