The events looked bigger and more pro than ever... I think Sean and Missy always do a great job but this year it was different.
In the past Affiliate Summit looked like a ShareASale event, i know they are usually a big sponsor. But it always seemed like more than that, the Brian Littleton roast, awards ceremonies where the main sponsor seems to win all the awards, and star logo's everywhere. I really like ShareASale, in fact i can say although i never get the party invites, I was actually a pretty active SAS affiliate for a while, and Brian seems to be a great guy and a gentleman, i can't say anything negative about SAS as a company and that says a great deal.
I suppose what I'm getting at is, Affiliate Summit in Vegas looked to me as if it had outgrowing some of the companies that have been major sponsors in the past, and it may even be outgrowing some of the attendees. I'm not saying that this is bad and I'm not saying there is no place for smaller companies to sponsor. I'm just saying expect bigger sponsors, price increases for attendies and sponsors, more qualified speakers, and who knows maybe there is a buyout situation in the near future for Affiliate Summit. I took a look at the Vegas even and first thing I though of was someone big is going to buy this soon!!!! Ad-tech? MediaPost? Who is going to step up?
