My MySpace page has a PR 4/10 Value. What's yours?

If you copy my link http://www.myspace.com/stephenralphdotcom (new profile updated 04 Sep 06) and place it in a Google Page Rank checker you will see my page returns a PR of 4/10. That's not too shabby. The same thing goes for my blog URL http://blog.myspace.com/stephenralphdotcom Umm, so what Stephen...whoopdy doo!

Well if you have a website you want to bring more foot traffic to this is a FREE and midweight one-way link back to your site. One way links are gold in online marketing and the higher the PR value of the one-way link coming into your site the more weight Google will give your site in their search engine. It's all about algorithms. LOL!

As an experiment I submitted my MySpace link to http://www.submitnet.net, a website submission service I use for testing from time to time. This submission service is good and no doubt helped out in getting my profile page listed in many of the search engines fast but the quickest way to get your MySpace page indexed by the search engines is via your blog.

Hmm...you've probably heard that one before from me huh?! Do yourself and your online business a favor and visit http://www.pingoat.com every time you make a post in your blog. Grab your blog URL and your RSS URL (located in the top right corner of your blog) and PING those directories.

Trust me it works. Just do a search for Stephen Ralph on Google and Yahoo! and you'll see my MySpace profile comes up on the first page out of 37,000,000 (Google) and 8,150,000 (Yahoo!) results. My regular web page http://www.top-affiliate.com even comes in behind my MySpace page. What do you think this does for my business sites? Massive traffic. Period.

Leverage and use the power of this social network to your advantage. MySpace practically gives you all the tools you need to do some very good search engine marketing/optimization.

I wouldn't exactly call it evangelizing. It's purely another means to drive free traffic to your business but it's FAR from perfect.

i have wondered about the quality of traffic myspace might bring to a site. in particular if you have an interactive site, like one that features customer reviews, are you going to be weeding through reviews supplied by people who write them like they write on myspace (quick and dirty rather than thought out)? if so, could be more trouble than it's worth. i don't know.

Generally speaking the people that visit your site from Myspace are just like anyone else on the web within that demographic of 18-20 somethings. They are:

A. Actually interested in your product and service and will be motivated to register and actually contribute....

or

B. Just drive bys that may click on one of your ads.

I have never tried myspace. I find it enough work marketing my sites than having to market other peoples sites. lol.

Anyway, I keep hearing time and time again that using these sites is good. I think I better get moving and get more involved in some of these social networking type sites.
