Good question as that policy is clearly stated. Here's your answer.

WhyPark, as the name denotes, is not a traditional domain parking service. I know I've used the term "parking" quite a bit but WhyPark is really a content hosting service.

Traditional domain parking services display no content on the parked domain page. They add no real value to the web and that's why Google will not allow their ads to be displayed on them.

WhyPark allows you to create an unlimited number of custom pages and load them directly to your hosted domain. They're really just mini content sites that you can customize. Not just a blank page lying out there with Adsense ads plastered all over it.

For those of you with a BUNCH of domains, probably in the 1000K+ realm, Google themselve's offer a pretty much unadvertised Domain Parking service which you can review here: http://www.google.com/domainpark/

Funny part is their domain parking service displays ABSOLUTELY NO real content. It just dispays their ads...hmm....what's good for the goose is good for the gander is it not? I may investigate this service further to see what the requirements are.

Stephen - please can you update us on your progress with WhyPark as I am thinking about using the service. Have you come across any major issues (accounts cancelled / commission withheld) with Google Adsense or any affiliate programs you have been using on these websites?

Hi Stephen,

Indeed. I see WhyPark more as a mini content site provider with the option to sell your domain too. Just not too comfortable they used the quote "a domain parked at WhyPark.com includes ..." in their FAQ

Do keep update this thread and share with us the results of your experiment with WhyPark here. Thumbups.

Cheers, William

No issues whatsoever Richard. So far I've been happy with the service. I would like to see some additional beneficial features though such as:

Ability to add a static homepage.
Ability to add RSS feeds
Ability to make global template changes
Ability to easily add a custom header (You can do it now but it takes a little HTML work).
Easy way to display Text Link Ad code. I have a PR 4 site parked there, http://www.rss-latest-news.net, that I'm waiting on them to show mw how to place TLA ads on.
Let's be clear though. Nothing can beat a site you have completely created yourself. WhyPark is simply a good alternative solution to conventional domain parking because of how many ways you can monetize your real estate.

As I mentioned before, if you only have a few domain names then this is not for you. Go develop those domains. If you have a boatload of domains just parked at your registrar or on SEDO, Afternic etc. then this IS a good alternative for you.

Hi Stephen,

Just to check, have you received Google cheque AFTER you've started WhyPark? Meaning, the Google cheque includes money from AdSense you've generated with those clicks on WhyPark. Thanks.

Regards, William

Absolutely William. I've been receiving Adsense checks since I launched these domains on WhyPark back on 29 Aug 06.

The amount you make depends on the keywords you formulate your domain around. Do a little keyword research on Google Adwords (or whatever tool you use) for some terms related around the subject matter your domain revolves around. This will give you a pretty good perspective on what you can expect to earn per click. It will also give you some excellent article writing topics.

Default keyword named pages rather than id pages.

hello. I have been lurking here for a while and learned about WhyPark from a different source. Then I searched google for some additional information about WhyPark and found this thread.

I have a few domains "parked" with WhyPark and really one of the main things I would like to seen different is the ability to create a page but name it what you want instead of dynamically created. ie: I would like to have a "my-keyword-page.htm" instead of article.cfm/id/142842.

Any idea if this is going to be a future feature?

I'm not sure when or if that will be in the future for WhyPark. I agree though it would be nice. We shall see.

Stephen,

I am a noob at all of this. I currently have about 25 domains that are parked at Sedo and want to develop them a little bit.

I have read through this thread and a few of your others. What I am wanting to know is if you have a site or blog entry or something that explains in a little more detail things like adding RSS to your site, or getting you blog up and going and how to add the backlinks and what not.

Also, I have looked at whypark.com and I think this seems like a good choice for those of us with minimal time to devote to this process. I have read where you are happy with them. Have you made it to the point where you are getting $5-$10 per day from some sites? If so, can you describe your methods with more detail?

Thanks for some great posts already!

I am looking for server side feeds example not javascript RSS feeds.
