On a personal note I'm not a big fan of Adsense arbitrage. Arbitrage is the practice of taking advantage of a state of imbalance between two or more markets. Making money by bidding on less expensive terms to drive people to a page with AdSense or some other Publisher Network ads, while very lucrative with a good conversion ratio, dilutes the market.

Plain and simple it just takes work and time. Stick to blogging, article marketing and PPC to drive traffic. If you're using PPC setup a landing page for a particular product you want to promote. Your customer may convert on that product or click through some of the contextual ads on the rest of your WhyPark site. I just don't recommend using PPC for arbitrage purposes.

I have also signed up at whypark few days and now have started adding domains and keywords to setup my domains. I didnt like their templates so have changed it a bit.

Thanks,

Hey Tony nice work with the CSS skin there. I've looked around a bit but haven't found anyone specializing in creating WhyPark skins. Seems to me that would be a pretty lucrative market. The preloaded layouts are CTR friendly but there's always room for improvement. Maybe I should brush up on my CSS =)

Unhappy

Nothing personal here please understand, but I have developed a real "issue" with people who grab up domains and park them simply because they want to rake in a fortune off those who really want them but before you get all upset with me, let me explain what I keep running into...

For 7 years I've had this issue and I'm the one who has to answer to and try to explain to clients why their domains aren't available when they go look at them and see either A) nothing there but ads or a non-relevant page, B) an offer to purchase the domain at an outrageous price or C) a typical host-parked page...

I do a lot of non-profit sites. Right now I'm working on one for a group in my community that fights drugs. Every single name they wanted was a parked domain. EVERY SINGLE ONE. Now we sit here and cannot come up with a name. We've been at this for over a month.

This is a private-funded group that hasn't a lot of money to pay off domain name auctioneers. This group is doing a wonderful service to the community, all voluntary, yet they cannot even get their chosen domain name because of people who lap up domains like water in hopes of profiting off innocent victims like this.

There's always a flip side to these issues and sometimes I think some of these tactics are a bit unconscionable. It has gotten to be extremely frustrating under my circumstances. Oftentimes these people aren't all that computer savvy and just cannot understand the whole process and I get frowned on because they think I can somehow magically make these domains available. Well, I'm just one little web developer working her butt off; there's no way I can pay off domain auctioneers to help my clients.

Sorry...no one I deal with in my daily existence would understand this so it's kind of good to get this off my chest with those who know what I'm talking about. And please, again, don't take this personally as I also understand the workings of this process from a business persons' stand point. I just wish there were a happy medium for all so these good, giving people wouldn't suffer as they do...

Well that's a great point from the other side.
Always good to look at both sides of an issue.

FitnFree.

I understand and agree with your position on people who grab up domains and park them simply because they want to rake in a fortune off those who really want them. This used to be primarily individuals who bought celebrity names or upcoming celebrity names. Mainly sports. Nowadays there are far too many laws so that sheisty business has bit the bullet.

The days of buying domain names and hoping to make a killing is pretty much over. You do hear of domains being sold for tens of thousands of $ but they are almost always 3 letter domains or are completely developed.

Domaineers who simply just park their domains and do nothing with them in hopes to bank probably really don't know what they're doing. In order to make any real amount off of a domain it needs to be developed. That's what I do as a web publisher.

I have a few questions about whypark, if someone is willing to help me out.

It's my brother's account, so I didn't do all the initial setting up (I'll skip the rest of the back story).

Anyway, I know enough html to do tweaking (or damage depending on what I am doing). I figured out how to customize the opening page. Just for testing, I have input a totally new page that I built in Dreamweaver, not using the templates.
My question is, how do I add additional custom pages? I see where to enter the code, but I am unsure as to how to link to them properly from my opening page.

I appreciate your help.

Hey YRG! You are definitely on the right track by customizing your WhyPark templates. Even with just a few small tweaks to your templates can mean a significant increase in contextual/affiliate conversions.

Just click on Custom Pages within the admin section next to the domain you wish to add a new page too. If you're adding images and all that jazz you wil have to store those images somewhere online. I use a paid photobucket account for this so I don't burn up bandwidth on my traditionallly hosed sites.

If you're designing a CSS theme for WhyPark simply click on layout and copy and paste your CSS code into the CSS Stylesheet box. The modify your HTML layout below that box as you see fit. Remember to use the tokens WhyPark uses in the HTML layout box and host all images (etc.) within the stylesheet on Photobucket or another image hosting account.

Keep it simple though. Here's a VERY basic customized page I threw up on a brand new domain that specifically promotes WhyPark as an example using site targeting only via Adwords: WhyPark Domain Name Parking Services

Default A couple of questions about whyparks capabilities

I have a couple of questions about whypark.

1. Do you know if you can add a privacy policy and terms of use page to each domain's web site?

2. Also do you know if you can use an adsense tracking code on the pages like astracker I think this would be much more beneficial then using adsense channels.

Thanks
Edgar

Default answers to questions

By the way just in case anyone else would like this info. I emailed craig about privacy policy and he said they were thinking about making a universal privacy policy for the entire system.

He also said that as long as the tracking software is in html or javascript it can be used.

Craig got back to me very quickly. Great customer service.

Thanks all,
