Default The Home Depot of Internet Marketing Products?

When I first got online I figured it would be a good idea to promote eBooks and software that showed other people how to make money online. Seemed like a good concept way back then and I launched site after site around these little products.

After doing that for a while, doing JV's and all that jazz I just got sick of it. Every week another product was being launched you just had to have in order to be successful online. It was just an endless barage of junk that would fill your email.

Now don't get me wrong. There are some good eBooks like Adsense Empire and a SLEW of slick software like keyword elite, seo elite, clickadequalizer, etc. that I like but for the most part most of the stuff floating around the web to show you how to make money online is pure crapola.

What really aggravates me is the history lessons (old stuff) many of the most prominent online marketers (measured by how big their optin lists are) seem to package and spam your e-mail with almost weekly. Is everything really "The Next BIG SECRET!" LOL.

I think the community as a whole has had enough of it as I'm sure you've haeard about Jon's crusade against the eBook industry. Well, the next paradigm shift may come from Rick Butts with his launch of 1AffiliateLink.com.

Ricks vision for 1AffiliateLink is to make it basically the Home Depot of Internet Marketing related products. One-stop shopping. Will it work? Maybe. Will it expose a lot of the frauds? Probably.

Check out this short [and above all] humorous video Rick just released which identifies the problem of affiliate marketing within the internet marketing industry. CLICK HERE TO WATCH

Thank God for real merchants and retailers who ship a real product!

WOW! WOW! The video CRACKED me up and told it like it is!
Man, he's GOOD! I love his direct non-hype approach and the concept.
Thanks for turning me on to this. I needed a good laugh!

=) Thought you might like that. Yeah, I also like Ricks stand-and-deliver approach. It should be interesting to see how project pans out.

The number one thing I took from that video.....MAN I NEED TO GET CAMTASIA STUDIO! LOL!

Stephen,
I agree with you that most of the products being released are hype -- not all, but most. It always astounds me when a newbie to affiliate/internet marketing decides they want to give other newbies advice on how to be successful in the market; it's the blind leading the blind. ROFL

I'm glad that I spent a great deal of my time focusing on non-internet marketing related niches. (Of course, I did later put out my own products...but that's another story.)

Personally, I think the idea seems a bit too altruistic and sends up some red flags; this screams of yet another marketing strategy to part fools from their money. However, I may be jumping the gun, so I'll just watch tentatively to see how this actually plays out.

Smile Hey - Rick Butts here - thanks for the review!

I really appreciate all you are saying here about my site / idea etc.

You know, I created this approach and stuck my neck out against the flow of the status quo - and I really had no idea on what the reaction of the market would be.

One thing I have learned for the umpteenth time in life - is that people HATE change.

On the audio on the site - I do a monologue about the ideas I had for this concept - and the barriers that exist - and in it I talked about the fact that we've all become "preconditioned" by the existing paradigm.

We open far too many of those emails knowing full well that they are hyped out marketing distractions - and either we do it to goof off - or convince ourselves that they are some acceptable form of news.

Many people have expressed to me that they wish they could get off all these lists but are afraid they'll miss something.

Anyway - since you were discussing the viability of 1AffiliateLink.com I felt like you may be interested in my input here.

At this point - it is up in the air what will happen. IF - and IF IS A BIG IF - people choose to reject the crappy way things are now - and start emailing the big boys back and asking them to send good info instead of thinly veiled marked up offers - much will change.

But if people wait around looking at each other - apathy - and wait for someone else to do "something" then this idea may die in the crib.

I'm all for carrying the flag in the revolution - but I'm not going to go around trying to pick up the comatose off the ground.

Thanks for kicking this idea around - and PLEASE do come back to the site and get on the notification list - and comment - I'd LOVE to get your feedback.

I plan to survey the notification list and find out how YOU want this thing to be.

Thanks again,
Rick

That's awesome Rick, a nice drop is always appreciated too. I'm glad you found your way over here. There's always something good burning up the forums.

No doubt I'll be back to get my hands dirty in the next phase of your release. Maybe even take you up on your current vendor offer....have something in development.

Arrow What would be the best way to do 1AffiliateLink ?

I would REALLY appreciate your thoughts on how you think the 1AffiliateLink site ought to work.

1. (current) Members pay $24 per month - Vendors pay $97 per month, site takes zero commission.

Site offers full slate of benefits - training - stocks free download area - streaming tutorials, etc.

2. Members get in free (or say that magic $7 per month) and Vendors pay $97 - site takes 5% from Vendor sale.

No member training - communication pared down to interviews, teleseminars with vendors (still delivering good value).

3. Members free - Vendors, low token fee - pay 10% to site.

I am truly interested in your input - maybe (question for Mdm President) could I post this as a forum topic about the potential for this new form of getting IM products?

Thanks guys, and dolls!

Hi Rick,

We have to be careful and don't normally allow anything that could be seen as self promotion - because if people see one person posting about their product or site then everyone thinks they can do it to and the forum turns into a spammer free-for-all.

I do think your idea has merit and could help save our members some money so I'll let you post.
(Plus you kissed up and called me Mdm President.)

You need to do it like this: Post in the General forum.

Put at top of post: This post approved in advance by Linda.
(So one of the mods doesn't delete it and so members know it's a special situation.)

Be sure it's really written as info gathering and doesn't sound like an ad.
You can do a poll if you like with the price points you listed above.
