I was a late blooming twit and just got active about a month ago. I'm not really using it to full potential and def don't twit every new blog post as that's considered Twit spam, so only do an occasional important or newsworthy one.
Wait, that's considered spam? I thought it was okay to do that on Twitter...is it against the terms of service or something?
I personally don't mind when a blog that I follow posts a Tweet with a tinyurl. I sure hope they don't get penalized for it though.
At 1st when I started, some peope thought it was spammy. But now it's OK to do it and everyone does.
I have a twitterfeed that pulls all my blog posts automatically.

hard to keep up with. since its a micro blog you have to drop in small bits of info many times a day.. i have a busy day and can't be sending text or computer sent posts all day long i would go crazy. People must be doing this in meetings, at dinner, on the toilet, in bed, come on people we got to give it a rest. But other than i think people are on this crap to much - it has worked for me a few times and like i said i'm not on it 24/7
I like Twitter, but like so many other people, it wasn't really clear to me how to really use it without seeming like a spammer. I have read on a couple of good blogs that I follow to use Twitter as if you were at an affiliate marketing convention, or at a cocktail party. They advised to get in there and mingle. Share your interests with others, and ask questions.
I have found that a great way to communicate with others via Twitter is to ask questions. People are always willing to give their opinions.
Twitter is such a great social network site if you wanted to get connected with like minded individuals. There are always cool updates with people around your niche that could be helpful on your business. And if you want to unsubscribe from other people's tweets you can always unfollow them.
I think Twitter is a great way to bring brand awareness. I have connected with many people through social media channels, faster and easier then I thought I would. First, I was a little bit skeptical, but it actually works. I think you have to start out slow, and my suggestion to you is to start communicating right away with your followers. Instead of doing a DM, try doing @ to plug them in your updates. Everyone loves that.
Good luck and keep us posted on your Twitter efforts.
I think you need become famous in twitter and have enough followers, then when you submit a url, most of them will click and read it.
That is true, but if you always share useful info with your followers you can build a massive amount of followers in just a short period of time. It's also important that you always share some personal touch with them and avoiding showering them with links unless it is related to the topic that you are tweeting about. I also make a point of responding to all my tweets and sharing some 10 to 20 postings per day. It's time consuming at first but you'll get to love it soon after.
