Default 10 Reasons to use the Opera browser

Some of you know that I have a big interest in browsers. I probably have used every browser you can think of and many that most people have never heard about.

Opera has long been among my favorite browsers. Their share of the market is low, but they often originate ideas that are later adopted by the browsers that are more widely used.

Here is an interesting article that gives 10 reasons why the author of the article feels you should switch to Opera. You may or may not agree with what he says.

The 10 reasons are:

1. Speed
2. Speed Dial
3. Widgets
4. Wand
5. Notes
6. BitTorrent
7. Display modes
8. Quick Preferences
9. Mouse Gestures
10. Session saving

The article explains each of those 10 features. Ten reasons to switch to Opera - at ZDNet.co.uk

Thanks for the link Larwee. I have used Opera in the past and was happy with it but for some reason kept going back to IE and then FF once that was released. It has been a couple of years since I tried Opera so maybe it's time to revisit and see what's new. Cheers.

The Opera Browser has been available to the public for about 12 years. I used it when it first became available. I paid for it during all of those years when it wasn't free. Then started using the ad sponsored version when that became availabe about 8 years ago. It has been a free browser for the past 3 years.

I use a lot of browsers, so Opera is just one of the many that I use. But Opera doesn't get nearly as much attention as it deserves. It is a distant fourth as a Web browser but has a good share when it comes to mobile devices.

There are many people who have never tried Opera or who haven't used it for a while. Opera is a real innovator. A lot of people probably will never experience Opera and won't see what it has to offer and that is a little unfortunate. It is good for people to try different options to see if they like another browser better than the one that has become their favorite. They may and the may not, but they won't know unless they take a look at other browsers.
