Thanks for adding to and bumping up this thread guys.
I need to get an FTP program set up today. Dont have one set up
yet on my new box.
I'd heard good things about FIRE Ftp a FF plugin and was planning to get it.
Just read some reviews and comparisons. People love them both but more seem to favor FileZila.
So if Teli and Andrew like FileZilla - I'll just go grab it.
Thanks!

Linda,
What I like about Filezilla is that you can set a custom local directory (on your hard disk) and custom remote directory (on your web host account).
Because I do a lot of coaching and consulting, I can manage several specific accounts easily.
For example, a XYZ.com project could have:
local directory default... e:/projects/xyz.com/website
remote directory default...e:/bizexcellerator.com/consulting/xyz/project-files
Just imagine if I have 50 of these up, i save tons of time on switching between local and remote directories.

I sort my blog pictures chronologically and just configuring an blog/images/june/ and blog/images/july and fixing their local counterparts saves me about 1 min every day, and i know i won't upload files to the wrong directory too!

FileZilla is free and I think about the best out there.

psp, just about everyone mentioned in this thread is free. Some of them also have paid versions but they also have free versions.
It might be a good idea to try a few of the many mentioned and see which one you like best. Different people could have different views as to which is their favorite or which performs best for them.
You might even be like me and use different ones at different times.
FTP (hostname)
login:
password:
cd (working directory)
send/get (filename)
quit
I have a feeling Ayush is past of my hardcore command line posse too...

Andrewwee and Linda this is great advice. I have been using an old version of WSFTP for years simply because sometimes it's easier to just use what you're comfortable with, but the thing I hate is that I have to keep navigating to my remote directories over and over again every time I login for every site. Looks like Filezilla is the way to go. Thanks!
