Possibly due to bad publicity, GoDaddy seems to have made some changes in the way they handle invalid whois reports according to a number of people. However there are some who believe this isn't the way it should be done either. Here is a link to some information about that

Whenever any company has millions upon millions of customers, it is going to be impossible for every single one of them to be pleased with everything they do.

Usually when someone says a company is their favorite it is based upon their own personal experience. If they have had a very good experience, then they are going to like the company. It also helps if they know others who have also had very good experiences.

If a person has a bad experience then they might not speak too highly of a company and they could find others who are not pleased with that company or the way they do things, since with millions of customers there are going to be some who aren't pleased for some reason.

My support for GoDaddy is based upon the great experience I have had with them involving many domains over a period of several years, as well as similar experiences of other people I know. Plus I hear a lot more good about them than bad.

Of course if things change and if some people I know start having problems with GoDaddy, then I might start thinking differently. I have never had a single problem with them. But if I start having problems with them and things reach the point where I don't like doing business with them, then I would obviously start dealing with another registrar and GoDaddy would no longer be my favorite.

They're heading one step in the right direction as far as i could tell from that article.
I can't imagine why someone would disagree with their new approach?

Unless they still can't find their way to a telephone

When a invalid WHOIS is reported and it clearly is - then at least there should be made 3 attempts to get the registrant or someone in the capacity to speak and act for the registrant (lawyer) on the phone to correct the information.

When they just start shutting things down again without making proper attempts for establishing contact with the registrant then it's still a poor and flawed communication strategy.

Even worse when they place a fee on top of it for deactivation.
All they have to do is lock or change the nameservers and keep it locked.
There is no dollar amount that could justify such a trivial implementation.

But i do see there is a small step forward without knowing if they still have not improved their communication strategy or discontinued their ransom fee policy.

Thanks for the link!
