Default Class action lawsuit has been filed

Linda linked to a very good video. They might eventually make a movie out of this because of everything that is involved which at times makes it seem like a soap opera. Hundreds of thousands of people are affected by this.

Now Class Action Lawsuit has been filed against RegisterFly, ICANN, and ENOM by The Dummit Law Firm in North Carolina.

The law firm asked these questions:
Quote:
* Have you been denied or are you being denied access to your domain names that you have registered at RegisterFly.com?

* Have you lost domain names despite attempting to renew them through RegisterFly.com or transfer them elsewhere?

* Have you been charged for services that were not delivered by RegisterFly.com?

* Was the domain contact and/or ownership information changed without your permission to either RegisterFly.com or someone else entirely?
Here is a link to the law firm site which gives the reasons for the lawsuit and the goals of the suit. It also gives you a chance to join the suit. Class Action Lawsuit Against RegisterFly.com - Overview

Good luck to everyone that's suffering due to this mess!

Boy was I frustrated when I thought I wasn't going to be getting reimbursed for domain hosting that I had purchased from them.

I had an extremely hard time emailing them or contacting them by phone.

The last I heard from a friend that they were going out of business and I'm not sure if they have already or what's going on?

Any news?

Default ICANN gets temporary restraining order

ICANN has won a temporary restraining order which orders RegisterFly to transfer data to ICANN so that ICANN furnish it to other registrars.

RegisterFly was to supply ICANN with all customer data within 48 hours and is to supply weekly updates of that information.

On April 26, 2007, a hearing is scheduled to decide if the order is to be extended.

ICANN says current and accurate data would make it possible to transfer everything to another registrar.
