Default Favorite Email program (Email client)

Since most of us probably send and receive a lot of Email I thought it might be interesting if some of us would list our favorite Email program (Email client). It is possible that some readers will see one that they haven't heard of previously or one that they haven't tried and might want to give it a try.

I've used many over the years. Right now my favorite it Mozilla Thunderbird Thunderbird - Reclaim your inbox

It is loaded with features, has good security and automatic updates.

Several years ago I used and was very pleased with Eudora Welcome to Eudoraź!

I'll be giving it a test later this year when it becomes a free open source product. I am hoping it will be as good as their current paid version.

How about you? What is your favorite Email program (Email client)?

Default Email Programs

Well I have used the ones mentioned too.
My all time favourite by a mile was a product called bloomba, sadly bought by yahoo and promptly discontinued - it was superb.

These days use The Bat which has a number of powerful feature - most noteably its templating and macro facilities.

Eudora is once again free.

I used a free edition of Eudora several years ago and I really loved it. Some of you might remember Eudora from back then. Some of you may have also been using the paid Eudora the past few years. I think Eudora is a great mail client.

Qualcomm decided to eliminate the paid Eudora and allow it to become open source. It is now an extension built on top of Thunderbird.

Eudora 8 allows you to add any menu item to the toolbar. It also supports Thunderbird add-ons.

Penelope extentions will work with either Eudora or Thunderbird and they provide new icons and sound files.

Eudora is a branded version of Thunderbird that has some extra features from the Eudora developers. Penelope is an extention that can be used with either Thunderbird or Eudora.

You need to remember that Eudora 8 is a beta release so everything might not be perfect.

Here is a link that will tell you all about Eudora and allow you to download it Penelope Releases - MozillaWiki

My first E-Mail client was Eudora. I switched to Outlook Express because it could not then handle multiple accounts, which I could do in Outlook Express. However, one big problem I am facing with Outlook Express is that Attachments are saved as a part of the dbx file, resulting in massive files over time. I miss the Eudora's feature of saving attachments separately.

I love Gmail, but I use Thunderbird the most and I love it.

I love anything that's related to Mozilla or Gecko.
