Will Microsoft buy Yahoo? A lot of people are asking that question now and there are reports that the two companies are trying to put together some type of a deal. Microsoft would either purchase Yahoo or the two would work on some type of partnership. The reason is to try to battle Google.

Many believe that no matter what Microsoft and Yahoo come up with they are still going to have trouble making any progress against Google. Neither one is as good as Google in the areas they are trying to battle Google.

This has the potential to be a 50 billion dollar deal to battle Google in search and in advertising. The possibility has generated a lot of interest. There have been no useful comments about this from either Yahoo or Microsoft.

After all the interest over the possible Microsoft purchase of Yahoo or some type of a partnership, it is now being reported by the Wall Street Journal that talks between Microsoft and Yahoo are no longer active.

The New York Post and the Wall Street Journal were the two newspapers that first reported that the two companies were in talks for Microsoft to buy Yahoo.

This is something worth watching for a while to see what finally happens.
