Blast off with Gigablast

I use a lot of search engines since I am a very big search engine fan. Some of them aren't all that good, but others aren't all that bad. Some have features that are different from what a person is used to seeing.

There is a search engine I've been using for several years. It isn't my first choice but I do like to test it at times just to see what type of search results I will get. I am often pleased with the search results.

Some people have heard about it and many haven't. It is actually a lot more successful than most people realize.

The search engine I am talking about is Gigablast Gigablast

The general public can use Gigablast. In addition webmasters can display search boxes that are powered by Gigablast. There is also site search, custom topic search, hosted search and XML search feed.

Gigablast has made a number of changes and some improvements since I started this thread.

When Gigablast launched their first search engine in 2002 it was mainly aimed for individual search users. About 2 years ago (2006) they started to concentrate on providing search services to businesses. However individual search users could still use Gigablast.

Gigablast has now again started to pay attention to the individual searcher as well as their business services.

One feature you might quickly notice is what they call their Freshness Dating. This makes it possible for you to search for new pages within the last day, last week or last month. I like this feature, but it isn't perfect. But Gigablast says they are working on making it better.

In addition to Web searches, Gigablast also offers image and video searches.
